A lovely group of 25 singers begun the New Year with a special evening of song in the superb new Oak Room at Combe Grove Manor led by Jane Harris, Director of Songways. After the busyness of the festive season we enjoyed immersing ourselves in heart-warming, nourishing and calming harmony songs, all taught by ear. Songs included a round written especially for Twelfth Night, Jane’s beautiful chant, In the beauty of the world, find rest and be free, and Laurence Cole’s affirming song, In this life. Jane also guided the group in free singing and improvisation. To round off the evening, we enjoyed a drink in front of the fire in the cosy and stylish hotel.

Some comments from singers:

Really enjoyed the evening in the lovely Oak Room

Loved the time to stop and the peaceful feeling I was left with

I particularly enjoyed the improvisation which I felt created an opportunity for real listening and brought us very much into the moment together

This was our first singing event in the Oak Room and more events will be planned in due course. Please join our mailing list to ensure you receive details.
