Bravo to all the Songways singers at the Bath Festival Party in the City – great to perform in our home venue, St Swithin’s Church.
We opened the concert with Thina simunye – We are together from South Africa followed by a Macedonian dance song, Eleno kerko, with guitar and violin. Then, two classic American Civil Rights songs We shall overcome and Woke up this mornin’ with my mind set on freedom, and the beautiful 17th century Da pacem Domine canon – Bring us peace, Lord, in our time. We performed the lively Queen of Waters by Nancy Kerr with violin and bouzouki, and finally the wonderful song Be the Light by Lea Morris.
Some comments from our appreciative audience:
What a great sound…
Wonderful performance… congratulations…
Loved the variety of songs…
Interested in singing with us? We have two thriving choirs which meet in beautiful and spacious venues:St Swithin’s Bath on Wednesday evenings and at Holy Trinity, Bradford on Avon on Friday mornings. No auditions, all songs and harmonies taught by ear.
