Rolling Harmony was delighted to lead a singing workshop and to give a concert in Derby, hosted by three local choirs – Rise and Sing, Rough Truffles and Kaleidescope Community Choir.
The afternoon was enjoyed by more than seventy singers from the three choirs and from further afield – Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire, Lincolnshire and Manchester. Jane Harris and Claire Stronach led the workshop, with Rolling Harmony singers supporting each vocal part. Songs included Inzozi Inziza – Sweet Dreams by Penny Stone, Mother of Light by Kajsa Norrby and Many Waters by John Harrison, one of Rolling Harmony’s favourite songs which singers joined in singing in the evening concert. Jane also taught her song In the beauty of the world, inspired by the Wendell Berry poem, The Peace of Wild Things, and Rolling Harmony later performed a beautiful setting of the poem by Malcolm Dalglish.
