Our third Songways singing weekend at Halsway Manor, the National Centre for Folk Arts was an absolute joy. Fifty singers gathered for a full weekend of singing, dancing, music, fun and friendship – led by Jane Harris, Director of Songways and Pip Wright, Kana Kernow – Singing Cornwall. On the Saturday evening we enjoyed a wonderful Cornish Ceilidh – Nos Lowen, with caller, Nina Fenner, and a fabulous scratch band, including fiddles, guitars, English concertina, ukulele and percussion. There was time to walk and enjoy the autumn colours on the Saturday afternoon and Pip led a special sunrise Songs with Spirit, Songs of the Soul on the Sunday morning. Warmest thanks to everyone who came and to the team at Halsway Manor for looking after us so well.
