The Cultural and Singing Day in Bath on Sun 22 June 2014 was led by Nana Mzhavanadze, an eminent musicologist and traditional singer from Guria, a western region of Georgia. Nana was born into a family of song masters. In her childhood polyphony was still a way of life; daily work and celebrations were shared together with song.

During the day Nana taught the group three traditional songs and a folk dance and we tasted traditional Georgian food, prepared and served by Ana, and Georgian wine.

Blessed with a singing voice of exquisite delicacy, and a gentle and enabling teaching style, Nana has a unique singing and teaching repertoire and, true to her tradition, songs are shared by developing the musical ear and without sheet music.
