It was wonderful to gather singers from both the Songways choirs together for Bring in the holly! in the lovely setting of St Luke’s Church, Bath. We were joined by our special guests Confluence duo – accordion and cello, and Songways flautists too.
Our programme featured festive and celebratory songs from England, Scotland, Croatia, America and South Africa, and original songs by Jane Harris – Bring in the holly, A Wassail for us all, and Let there be peace, newly composed in November this year. Many thanks to all the singers, to Confluence and to our very appreciative audience, and to everyone who donated – we collected £485 for Médecins sans Frontières.
We also had a brilliant time performing at the delightful Christmas tree festival at Holy Trinity Church, Bradford on Avon on the Friday, with a full and appreciative audience. A real treat to share our songs in this special festive setting.
Come and sing with us in the New Year… all are welcome… come and be part of it.

Join one of our Songways choirs: Bath choir on Wednesday evenings and a Bradford on Avon choir on Friday mornings, both led by Jane Harris. Expect a warm welcome and rewarding singing sessions filled with a wide variety of songs, rich harmonies, infectious fun and calm beauty. There are no auditions and there is no need to read music – Jane teaches all the songs and harmonies by ear.
We relish the energy, vibrancy and variety of the songs we sing in Songways and are excited by the way singing in harmony can take us into dramatically different sound worlds. Jane plays the violin and we love to collaborate with other instrumental musicians for some of our songs – including guitar, banjo, bouzouki and harp. Singing with Songways is also a chance to develop your voice, increasing range and resonance, releasing tension and exploring new singing styles.
Sing with the combined Songways choirs in an informal concert in a beautiful venue such as Bath Abbey, Bath’s St Swithin’s Church or Holy Trinity, Bradford on Avon. These special sessions are particularly rewarding, singing together in wonderful acoustics.
