SINGING DAY: Iford Peto Garden and Farleigh Castle
Sat 21 May 10 am to 4pm
LAST FEW PLACES AVAILABLE
The Iford Singing Day has become an annual event in the Songways calendar in May, singing in the exceptional hillside garden at Iford Manor. In 2016 we will sing at Iford in the morning and then stroll along the beautiful valley to Farleigh Castle to sing in the ancient chapel there. All the songs and harmonies will be taught by ear on the day by Jane Harris, Director of Songways.
Iford is an “other-worldly” place, with an exquisite garden nestled in a sheltered valley. Visiting Iford is a delight. To join in a Singing Day at Iford is a particularly special way to enjoy all that it has to offer: to savour the sounds we create in different parts of the garden, listen to the bird song, relish the privilege of having the cloisters to ourselves, revel in the fun of learning songs and harmonies together and feast our eyes on the wonderful vistas throughout the garden. Combining this with a picnic lunch at Iford and a stroll along the valley, and singing in Farleigh Castle chapel, promises to be a very rewarding and enjoyable day.
